Last day of school

Today was Josh's last day of school until we move. I don't think the quite understands that he won't be going to this daycare anymore and will soon have new teachers and make new friends. He is sad that he has to leave his Ms Evie. She's the teacher for the 3 year olds and is wonderful with the children. Josh just loves her (and so do we)! He claimed her as his girlfriend there for a while. Ms Evie and Dora. You know, the Explorer....that Dora. I told Ms Evie not to worry about being in competition with Dora seeing as how Ms Evie is a real person. ;)
Ready for his last day of school in Greenville!

Helping Daddy punch the code in.

The teachers planned a little ice cream party for the kids today in honor of Josh's last day. Ms Evie gave him a goodie bag with his name on it filled with crayons, books about numbers and letters, candy and a really cute book with pictures of Josh and his friends from school.

Josh and I made a little art project for Ms Evie and Ms Kristian (Josh's other favorite teacher) and he enjoyed watching Ms Evie open her gift. We also filled little jars with M&Ms and attached a poem about each color meaning a different thing and gave one to each teacher. He was with Ms Evie for most of the day but at one point or another he was with all of the teachers. It's a great idea because the kids who start in the 3s class will eventually move up to the 4s and have a new teacher. But because they've had time with the 4s teacher there isn't as much of a transition.

I saw this idea on Pinterest (where else?!) and used Josh's hands to make the "sun" and used stencils for the letters (because I am NOT artsy!). I think they're adorable. Josh loved getting his hands painted. He's quite particular about not being messy while he's eating and he can't stand to be sticky but paint and mud seem to be exceptions to his OCD rules. :)

Thank you, Ms Evie (and ALL the teachers who worked with Josh) for giving so much time and attention to our boy. He has grown and changed so much since he started going to Childtime. We couldn't have been more pleased with our experience there.

We really have been blessed to have such good influences in Josh's life when it comes to school/daycare. I pray the Lord continues to put the best people for Josh in our path. We're hoping to enroll Josh at the Childtime in Raleigh (it's only 3 miles from the new apartment!) and the director at the daycare here has nothing but wonderful things to say about the director and teachers in Raleigh. My Mama heart prays that he will transition well and enjoy school there as much as he has here. He's learned so much in just a few months and they played a huge role in that.
